If your e-mail address is floating around on the Internet, then you’re just asking for a massive dose of spam. Most of us just can’t help the fact that our addresses are out there for everyone to see. Whether it’s on our Web site, message boards, or any other location for that matter, both people and spam bots can harvest our addresses. Even if you don’t think that yours is public, it’s probably still located somewhere in the depths of this tangled web of information. One method of protection from the spam assailants that you can use is something called Email Cloaker for Web.
This program takes your e-mail address information and spits it out into your selection of three cloaking methods. The so-called unbreakable method provides you with your very own contact form that people can use to e-mail you. Just give them the address to this personalized page, and they can message you by using a nice system that includes a verification code. This works nicely. The JavaScript and HTML cloak options aren't as secure as the aforementioned method, but they will help to fool some of the uneducated bots. This program won't completely erase spam from your Inbox, but it will help to decrease some of the potential load. |

A!K Research Labs today announced the release of Email Cloaker for Web. The application tightly integrates with the web-based service - Xinbox.com and allows anyone to register their email address at the website. Registered users are offered a free personalized page with a secure online message system. What's more, they get a link that can be used instead of an email address. Therefore emails remain secured from email harvesters and spammers.
"According to the latest survey, an average user gets about 10-20 spam emails a day and if you don't, it is only sheer luck," said Helen Apet, sales manager at A!K Research Labs. "To minimize the amount of spam people use different solutions. Conventional anti-spam solutions won't help you fight spam. Anti-spam filters are annoying and cut down your productivity. Cloaking email addresses with scripts is effective only with less sophisticated email harvesting software. To stop spam, you need to exclude the use of an actual email address from messaging."
"Creating an account at XInbox.com is one of the simplest and effective ways to keep spam out of your mailbox. With this service, you will no longer fear that your email will be extracted by harvesters and abused by spammers. Simply tell your friends or people you know well the address of your online contact form and leave this contact link everywhere - web pages, forums, and message boards. Other good things of XInbox.com service are: it is free of charge, it doesn't use advertisements and does not collect or store any personal information about clients as well as their messages." |
